Day 244: Old Business Cards

Probably best not to carry around business cards with an outdated address and photos from 2009. Right?

DESTINATION: Recycling.

Day 242-243: Pacis and Toys

I really wanted my boys to be pacifier kids, because it's like a Magic Crying Baby Mute Button. But they wanted nothing to do with it -- literally, in the hospital nursery, they were already spitting out their soothies. I was always jealous of my friend Chrissy who was like, "Yeah, K wakes up in the middle of the night but I just do a binky re-application and she falls back asleep." I bought pacifiers in every shape and size, but no such luck.

The other stuff is just random toys.

DESTINATION: Trash for the binkies and Goodwill for the toys.

Day 241: Giant Belt

Yeah, I don't think this fits me very well anymore.

DESTINATION: Hand-me-downs.

Day 240: Random Tray

I wasn't even storing anything in this -- I was just storing it. Kind of defeats the purpose.

DESTINATION: Goodwill.

Day 239: More Sippy Cups!

Another thing the boys refused to drink out of. (Apparently the only sippy cups they'll entertain are ones with Buzz Lightyear on them.) Cute, but might as well let someone else get some use out of them!

DESTINATION: Goodwill.

Day 236-238: Clothes

Just getting rid of a few more clothes: a hoodie, a pink-and-black striped dress that probably stopped being age-appropriate about four years ago, and a sweater that stopped being flattering about 10 pounds ago.

DESTINATION: Hand-me-downs.

Day 235: Baby Mirror

This is cute. As you can tell from the clarity of the "glass," it got a lot of love in the form of dirty fingerprints. But the boys have pretty much outgrown the phase of being interested in their own reflection, so we figured another bambino could use it.

DESTINATION: Goodwill.

Day 234: Mug

G acquired this mug for me back in college, when he was working at the "rich-people-dump," but I never drank out of it. Ironically (or non-ironically?) it was basically just cluttering up my desk. Which, according to the mug wisdom, actually made me smarter! But I figured I could risk letting it go.

DESTINATION: Goodwill.

Day 233: White Shorts

G hates these shorts and they're a little too big anyway.

DESTINATION: Goodwill.

Day 232: White Shelf

I liked this shelf because it had cutouts for photos. I took some shots of the Seaside boardwalk (pre-Snooki era) and made a cute beachy shelf and never hung it anywhere. That was probably six years ago.

DESTINATION: My niece said she'd take it. She's been at college for the past few months, so it's technically been sitting in a bag in the dining room for awhile now, but we need to get cranking on this blog so I'm COUNTING IT!

Day 231: Porcelain Flowers

I don't even remember where these came from, but I've been holding onto them for years because they're pretty. But my overall trinket-phobia means I'll probably never decorate with porcelain flowers.

But aren't they pretty?

DESTINATION: Trash.

Days 226-230: Baby Stuff

I don't remember whether any of this stuff was a gift...so, suffice to say these are a few toys that were outgrown before they got a chance to be used, or were doubles, or whatever.

DESTINATION: Goodwill.

Day 224-225: Hatboxes

I like to store things in things. I've amassed a ridiculous collection of photo boxes and hatboxes and little Sterlite boxes and giant Rubbermaid boxes. If decorative boxes ever become the new world currency, I will be the richest woman alive.

But these round hatboxes, while adorable, aren't optimal for storing square things like cards and photos. And I don't wear the kind of hats that need storin'.

DESTINATION: My neighbor took them for storing her daughter's bajillion headbands and accessories. Yay!

Day 223: Doll Bed

I bought this doll bed at a yard sale for $1 because I do newborn photography, and I thought it would be cool to shoot a set of newborn twins on a doll-sized bunk bed. Then I thought about it some more and realized that sounded like the least safe thing ever, and maybe I should just stick to bean bags. Especially when the bed looks like this:

DESTINATION: Trash.

222: Baggy Shirt

I bought this shirt at Urban Outfitters when I was preggo, and I was excited because it was strangely baggy despite not being a maternity shirt. And I got a lot of compliments on it -- when I was pregnant. Probably because there are only, like, three standard maternity shirts, and this wasn't one of them.

But then I continued to wear it post-baby (look, it wasn't a maternity shirt, okay?) and started getting a much less welcome kind of compliment. For example: "You're so brave to go for #3 already!" and "Are you hoping for a girl this time?"

Ugh. Bye, shirt.

DESTINATION: Goodwill.
